We have launched People Purpose Place as a stand alone site. It just makes sense now that we are a fully fledged homing solution Not-For-Profit company.

Innovation House proudly supports People Purpose Place in addressing the housing crisis. We’re committed to achieving best practice outcomes for their projects. This can be realised through collaborative efforts in design, feasibility, and project support. Innovation House assists projects in evolving. People Purpose Place, powered by Innovation House.

People who want to work together will need to have support to form groups, as well as support to create agreements.

Collaboration requires robust group formation and agreement processes. We crafted a 10-part workshop series to help individuals interested in collaborative housing form groups and establish agreements. These agreements encompass non-violent communication, household rules, decision-making processes, and conflict-resolution skills. This process can extend to drafting constitutions for future operations. Small groups of three to five members are ideal for rapid change.

More than ever, we all have to be open to change. We aim to create group agreements that can be easily amended as situations evolve. This may include letting members leave as situations change. Members should be committed to the group but also have the possibility to leave if that commitment fades. We have a name for this process: Hard to get into, Easy to get out of.

The second role that People Purpose Place delivers is looking at what those solutions mean after your group or groups have been identified.

Once your group is formed, we assist in identifying tailored housing solutions. We acknowledge that groups would include those looking to find an alternative housing solution, essential workers and employers who might support them, elders in our community, and those who might consider care over time or those realising that the modern housing system has locked them out. This includes designing spaces that cater to individual needs while promoting collaboration. We also provide local builder solutions and feasibility checks to ensure affordability.

Once you start the journey, it’s always good to have that support right the way through to the end.
